You didn't know it, but it's right here!
Le Hussard sur le toit
All the water scenes in the film "Le Hussard sur le Toit" took place in the gorges de la Méouge.
Released in 1995, the film allowed millions of people to discover the wonderful landscapes of our valley!
Alex Hugo
More recently, one of the episodes of the series "Alex Hugo" was filmed in the Méouge valley. The filming lasted 2 months and ended with the residents of Barret sur Méouge, the actors and the film crew enjoying a friendly drink, at the initiative of the Mayor, Bruno.
It's worth noting that some of the crew were able to take advantage of the campsite's accommodation!
Michel Jonasz
It was in 2021 that Michel Jonasz, having stayed in one of the villages in the Méouge valley, released his album "La Méouge, le Rhône, la Durance". Although he quotes other major rivers (the Seine, the Marne, the Dordogne, the Rhône, ....) in his text, the Méouge takes 1st place... and the most poetic!
Natura 2000
The Natura 2000 network brings together natural or semi-natural sites in the European Union that are of great heritage value, due to the exceptional flora and fauna they contain.
The Gorges de la Méouge, a Natura 2000 site since 2007, is home to some of Europe's most remarkable, rare or vulnerable species and natural environments. These include the southern barbel fish, the Damier de la succise butterfly and the Petit Rinolophe bat. The presence of these species testifies to the quality of the natural environment.
